Another pound of thunder and Jack comes running to my side! He is not the bravest of four legged guys! That first day of school is getting closer. I am both excited and terrified. I have done it a hundred, well not really a hundred, times before--but there is nothing like the first day of school for both the student and the teacher. I just want to be prepared and have things organized and well thought through. Because, as I well know once day one is over I'll won't have the luxury of coffee and thinking--at least not at the same time.

I'm heading to a new school, in a new city, with not one of my teaching supplies from the last 18 years of teaching!! Yup when we moved I was going to leave teaching in my past....well sometimes you just can't let things that are meant to be go. I am thrilled to have found a job in this economy but wish i just had about half my stuff!! Oh well, another adventure. And I am so good at those!!

transitions

I am embarking on a major transition in life.  At almost 50 years old you would think--or so I thought--I would have this transition thing figured out.  I have had a few transitions in my life but still for me they do not come easy.  I am continually amazed at people who make major life changes seem so smooth easy and effortless.  My last transition I would give myself a Dt, this one I am aiming high for a B-.  As I ponder on the feelings and emotions that go with such a transition I am learning to embrace all that goes with change.
